Week 4

I enjoyed the reading for this week.  I especially like the article Theories of Knowledge.  The article was very informative and made complete sense.  I also enjoyed the presentation by Penn State about the information cycle.  I never really gave the information cycle much thought until now.  Looking up the origins of the word "canuck" was a little stressful.  I found way to much information and had a hard time sorting through it and finding the accurate origin.  I still unsure but picked the most likely one.  It might have helped if I had ever heard the word before.  I really enjoyed the assignment "how I know."  This assignment really got me thinking about what I truly know.  You never realize how little to truly know from first had experience compared to what you think you know.  It was fun to come up with things I was certain about.  The research plan and selecting information sources assignments were helpful because it made me start really planning for my project and thinking about where I will get the information from.

Week 2

  The first assignment about global topics was kind of fun.  I learned a lot of interesting information about topics I did not realize I would be that interested in.  I also learned exactly what is meant by global issue.  The information about bioterrorism for instance was very sad but also interesting.  I appreciated the comment I got on the assignment.  The research  I did for my topic proposal was through Encyclopedia Brittannica online.  It was very easy to use and quickly accessed through the Seattle Central Community College Library website.  My topic proposal was obesity.  Creating this blog was also pretty easy and strait-forward.

  I did not run into any problems while completing the assignments.  I did learn quit a bit about researching on the web and what services my college library offers to distance learning students.  The only problem I have run into this week when it comes to time management is the flu.

Setting up my blog

Setting up this blog was pretty easy.  I have never set up one before but the steps were simple and straight forward.  I am usually pretty good with computers.  I like pink that is why my text is pink.  I will try to make this blog more interesting and fun to look at when I am done with my homework for both classes.
